4200 páginas de mecanismos...The best ever collection of "Ingenious Mechanisms" is a
seven volume set called "Mechanisms in Modern Engineering Design" by Ivan Artobolevsky, Mir Publishers, Moscow, translated into English in 1975.
Each volume, containing about six hundred pages, is a compendium of similar mechanisms. For instance, Volume I is on Lever Mechanisms. Volume IV is on Cam and Friction Mechanisms. This set of books was not widely distributed in North America, but was sold at very low prices elsewhere, especially in third world countries, as part of the old Soviet Union's propaganda effort. It should be of great interest to mechanical engineers and hobby machinists.
Occasionally, this set of books can be found in those musty old urban radical left wing bookshops that still carry copies of "The Thoughts of Chairman Mao." Its a shame - because the political intent obscures what it probably the best reference collection of its kind ever put together.
